Mohammed Adil Ibrahim
Grad Student @Cornell | IIT Hyderabad '23
About
Mohammed Adil Ibrahim is a final year student majoring in Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He is passionate about systems biology, mathematical modelling of biological systems, and applied computational biology. Adil is also interested in studying biology-based microfluidic applications and aims to use microfluidic chip experiments to validate the results predicted by computational systems biology simulations. Currently, Adil is a Mitacs GRI intern at Queen's University, where he is working on the microbial upcycling of PET monomers under the supervision of Dr. Laurence Yang. In this role, he is responsible for the computational analysis of microbial production of Value Added Chemicals (VAC's) using PET monomers as a carbon source. He is also involved in expressing various heterologous and non-heterologous biochemical pathways for effective upcycling of PET monomers in different microbes. Adil has previously worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, where he studied the dynamics of calcium signalling in different cellular arrangements under the supervision of Dr. Lopamudra Giri. He also worked on a computational study of the effect of anisotropy on the local dynamics of Polymer Grafted Nanoparticles (PGN's) under the supervision of Dr. Balaji Iyer. Adil's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, and a minor in Biomedical Engineering. He is proficient in research and has relevant experience of 0.27 years as a Research Scientist. Adil is always ready to share his thoughts on systems biology, mathematical modelling of biological systems, and applied computational biology.
